Just fill out the forms and submit them. It is very easy. It took 6 months for me to get the PR in the Socialist Canada. Then it took 1 month for me I should get out of there quickly. Very low pace, not many high level employment, high taxes. I visited a friend there last weekend. In Vancouver, it rains like hell and it is depressing to me. I said, darn, why am I living here? If I am not going to have significant career advancement, I should go back home than staying here enjoying this rain. In Toronto it is cold like hell. Go there and spend a couple of weeks and see if you like it. People are usually friendly there. In the end, it depends on how bad is back home when compared to Canada. Good luck.

Your assumption does not hold good for this year. As someone else already pointed out USCIS processed 80 to 85% of year 2008 quoto already, it would have only 15 to 20K visa till october08. For next year, if still the horizontal overflow happens it would add more numbers.
Nowhere i have seen in EB2 it goes beyond 50K except 2005(but there was AC21 implemented to recapture unused visa on 2005(Overall issued visa were 246,877.)
EB-2 India would go back to some date in October 2008,but to what date is anybody's guess.Lack of data about EB2 India for 2003,2004 is preventing us from forecasting this.
My guess for EB-2(I) for 2005 2006-MID JUNE EB2(I) is about 8000 from Perm Data.

In my opinion MMS may be a nice person and may be a good economist, but it wasn't him who was running the govt. and it will not be him if he comes back again. It is a very common practice in India, a chemist will run a chemist shop but the License is in somebody else's name. Here also same thing happened, you saw Manmohan Singh on PM's chair, but it was somebody else who was running the show, and it is deception & dishonesty to your voters. I always see a "Culprit" in his eyes, which is either hiding something or is guilty. Observe him on TV, he's mostly not making too much eye contact, he know he is guilty of deception....
He also headed one of the most corrupt & criminal cabinets in the history of India. People like Taslimuddin, Shibu Soren , Jagdish Tytler, Lalu had several criminal cases against them. On the contary you may not personally Like LK Advani, It's not just him who's going to rule the country if he comes to power. It'll be the whole cabinet, most what was during Vajpayee govt. which was much cleaner & much more agressive on developmental issues, they worked on certain agendas, lot of places where you see growth, were actually the good work done by the NDA govt. You may praise Laloo for all the Railway turn around, but the reality is the foundation was layed by then Railway Minister "Nitish Kumar", AI/AI became profitable under "Rajiv Pratap Rudy" . There were people like "Suresh Prabhu", "Yashwant Sinha", "Arun Shourie", all of them did tremendous Jobs in their cabinet. Yes...only that puupet brought those changes and reforms. Discrimination in employment based on nationality is not allowed. However, can we extend the argument to the employment based immigration? We can always choose to take that promotion though we will lose our place in the queue.
Leaving the question of fairness aside, under the current legal framework my guess is we do not have a case.

Depending on which country you are from, it may seem like discrimination or fair system upholding diversity.
If you are from India, you would hate it. There are truckloads of programmers in that country. But if you are the only graduate with programming skills from a country like timbaktoo (?), you would love it. You also got a shot at american dream.

I don't think anything like that will happen ..first of all it is not easy at all ..definitely many will leave (especially lot of people who just crossed the borders are moving back and the joke is that they are building a wall to prevent people from leaving :)).
but I do think that one way or the other something will happen in terms of faster immigration in the next year ..or else I don't know from where will they find so many buyers of houses ..look at this article about Georgia ,..which people kept saying -- that there is no bubble .
(look at the print in bold ..I am still wondering if it is a misprint or real ..117 months supply of homes !!! ..the other funny point is that bankers are running after builders with hot rods :D).

Maybe you are right. But I think that the main problem is not housing. It is the export/import imbalance, manufacturing jobs(maybe other jobs) leaving US etc. The housing boom, which was selling and buying to each other at higher and higher prices, masked the real problem in the economy. Government can do all it can to stop the house price sliding, but then what? We cannot generate economy again by buying and selling house to each other. People are asking 'where are the real jobs?'

I think conventional war was ended. But the mistrust is still there. New organization and another set of gurilla warfare will be start very soon. Many LTTE still in Sri Lanka. They may regroup after some time. The refuge camp will be breading ground. If need peace, settle these refugees to good housing, education and jobs. If Sri Lanka thinks the war is over with LTTE, and rule with same manner like before, no peace at sight. May be the unrest will be not in the north, may be in south.
For long lasting peace, cosider all minority with equal rights, like in India. Minority get more rights, because of vote bank.

Bottom line is EB3-ROW is enjoying with the expense of EB2 India and China.
Whether overflow happens vertically or horzontaly is subject to interpretation and we cannot really say if EB3 ROW is getting any undue advantage.....

Hi ,
My husband is a GC holder. For some family reasons we would like to stay in INDIA for couple of years(or maximum time we can). I know we have to apply for a reentry permit. Is it a tough one to get and how early should we apply for it.

A couple of points. Firstly it's usually a good idea when quoting wikipedia to include the primary reference that the quote or opinion is based on. A contentious issue like immigration reform produces lots of opinion but not all of it is based on fact. Secondly, there are shocking racial elements in the history of immigration laws in the US. Perhaps it's not that shocking when one considers the racial history of the country. Where did you get that 80k number? You think 80k is good salary for that job, someone else may say 65k, I may say 90k. The salary, among other things, is determined by market forces. If you can't find enough people with xyz then company will be forced to offer more.
As long as there are people who are ready to work on salary 52k (example), employer will not pay 70k. As long as employer is following all the legal requirements, no one can dictate salary for the job.
I agree that the employer will pay the salary that is consummate with the market. No well meaning employer will undercut to save a few pennies at the risk of losing out on quality.
What if the market pay scales are distorted through pervasive fraud ? If you look at it from an employer's view, it gets murkier. Believe it or not, low cost always signal lower quality. Trust me this is marketing 101. Google low cost and the perceptive signals. It is truly tough for the employer to trust the low cost employee's skillset.
Now the distortion comes into play when outsourcing companies flout rules and undercut the market through pervasive fraud. Like other industries such as manufacturing/agriculture etc, IT wages are destined to decline but not at this rate. The acceleration in the decline of wages is perpetuated by these scum outsourcing companies. If the decline in wages were let to decline at the speed of market, then it gives talented people time to upgrade skills or move to other industries without having to sacrifice quality of living. So per your argument, yes the end employer is following the rules by employing people from the outsourcing company because the employer does not know or looks the other way of the outsourcing company committing pervasive fraud. Here, two person of equal talent, could be earning 60k and 120k per year. It depends on your skill set, how do you sell yourself, and luck. An example - I have backgound both in Comp Science and Finance, so I look for opportunities where I can use both of them for effective leverage. If you think that I didn't face outsourcing challage or was not given pink slip, then you are wrong. As most professionals, I have seen good days and not-so-good days.

We need to look at issues faced by EB based community from a distance and without the glasses of issues faced personally by us. Until then, it is fight that one is more deserving than the other.
